Al-Shabab had earlier reached a prior agreement with Al-Hilal to buy the Saudi forward for SAR 8 million, but Al-Shabab’s board had asked to pay the amount in instalments, a request which was refused by the Saudi Professional League champions.
Al-Shamrani, who was sent on a loan to UAE’s Al Ain last season, then returned to training with Al-Hilal until a new offer came up.
Al-Hilal won 2-1 against Al Feiha in the first round of the Saudi Professional League.
