Gomez has faced an uncertain future at Merseyside for some time but <a href="https://www.thetimes.com/sport/football/article/premier-league-transfer-window-news-joe-gomez-liverpool-l93hr7vgw" target="_blank">The Times</a> reports that he is currently considering his options amid suggestions he will not play a part under new coach Arne Slot.

Chelsea, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Fulham are among the Premier League teams credited with an interest in the 27-year-old, who initially joined the Reds from Charlton at the age of 18. Gomez is the longest-serving player in the Liverpool squad at present and the club are not forcing him out as the two parties have had talks over his role within Slot's team, the report says. While there is no guarantee he will be gone by the time the transfer window closes at the end of August, Slot has so far preferred Jarell Quansah and Virgil van Dijk at centre-back, with Ibrahima Konate next in the pecking order ahead of Gomez.
