<p>The Blues signed Nkunku from RB Leipzig in the summer of 2023 for £52 million ($67m) in what was seen as a statement signing at the time. However, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/huge-blow-chelsea-christopher-nkunku-to-miss-start-of-season-weeks-on-sidelines-knee-injury/bltfdfdfbc7e1f15501" target="_blank">multiple injuries limited his game time last season</a> and in the 2024-25 campaign, new manager Enzo Maresca has preferred Nicolas Jackson as Chelsea's first-choice striker. The French forward has started in just one Premier League game this season and has clocked 154 minutes on the pitch. While he remains the club's highest goalscorer this season with 10 strikes to his name, most of them came in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup.</p>

Now <a href="https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Article/Christopher-nkunku-en-salle-d-attente-a-chelsea/1519568" target="_blank"><em>L’Equipe</em></a> reports that Manchester United are plotting a move to sign the France international in the upcoming window as they look to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-ruben-amorim-january-transfer-plans-revealed-bayern-munich-star/bltd2990e44c5327a26" target="_blank">bolster their squad in the new Ruben Amorim era</a>. </p>
