<p>Swedish authorities are investigating an official complaint of a suspected rape that occurred in the hotel Mbappe was staying in last week. The media in the Scandinavian country have since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/swedish-media-alleges-kylian-mbappe-suspect-hotel-rape-reportedly-occurred-real-madrid-star-trip-stockholm-prosecutor-confirms-investigation/blt463d15c0ceebaa9c" target="_blank">reported that the Real Madrid star is the suspect</a> in the case.</p><p></p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Mbappe has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/fake-news-kylian-mbappe-report-police-investigation-swedish-hotel-real-madrid-star/blte342fd9d7d3126c2" target="_blank">dismissed the allegations as "fake news"</a> while his lawyer said <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/kylian-mbappe-lawyer-real-madrid-star-flabbergasted-swedish-rape-investigation/blt5a72e4306840c6a3" target="_blank">that he is "flabbergasted" by the reports</a>. Madrid are offering their support to the 25-year-old, with a report from <a href="https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/real-madrid-back-mbappe-amid-163639949.html" target="_blank"><em>AFP</em></a> saying the club view accusations as "the biggest fake in the history of sport".</p>

<p>Amid the shocking allegations, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/kylian-mbappe-real-madrid-promotional-image-controversial-france-forward/blt12a28d12e1dd4dfb" target="_blank">Madrid edited Mbappe out of a promotional image for adidas</a>, which was revealed after Jude Bellingham mistakenly shared the original pictures which included his team-mate. The confusion sparked claims Mbappe's removal was due to the allegations, but Madrid insist it was because the Frenchman is an ambassador for adidas' main competitors Nike.</p>
