Ronaldo's unlikely friendship with Ed Sheeran

Footballers mingling with pop stars is nothing new, with top performers in two of the world’s most popular entertainment businesses often crossing paths.

Sometimes, however, iconic figures from two very different walks of life can form the unlikeliest of bonds.

In May 2017, two such personalities are hoping to be reunited.

One of those men is a former World Player of the Year and World Cup winner from Brazil, while the other is a Brit Award-winning artist who hails from Suffolk.

“I met Ronaldo and he came to my concert and invited us to his house which has a club in it,” Ipswich Town fan Ed Sheeran revealed to The Sun on his friendship with the ex-Barcelona and Real Madrid striker.

“We went there and he showed me my dance routine from the Thinking Out Loud video.

“He had learned it with his girlfriend, which was amazing.”

Sheerhan, who appears set to head back to the top of the charts with his album Divide this week, is planning to meet up with Ronaldo and his other half Celina Locks again after a performance in May.

He added: “I get to see him again, that’s exciting. I really like him.

“He was so cool. I got a shirt signed from him and it says, ‘To Ed, you f***. Ronaldo’.”
