Walcott reveals his telepathic bond with Rooney

Theo Walcott has revealed that he enjoys something of a telepathic on-field relationship with Wayne Rooney.

They have often been regulars for England over the years, with Walcott having claimed 47 caps for his country since his debut at international level back in 2006.

Manchester United striker Rooney has gone on to break the international goals record for his country, and also surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton at club level with his free-kick against Stoke City, and Walcott was full or praise for the 31-year-old's achievements.

"We have a good bond," he told Arsenal's official club website. "He knows the sort of runs I make. When he gets the ball it's the first thing he thinks 'where's Theo going to make this run' so I don't even need to look at times. He spoke to me about that in the past.

"I've got a shirt at home with a lovely message on there. He's a winner. Off the pitch he's a great person to talk to. Makes a lot of sense. He's got a lot of good points as well.

Wenger won't contest FA charge

"He's not afraid to say what he's thinking. I like that. To play at the level he's played at for so long, break so many records, you've got to be a good player."

Walcott hasn't featured for Arsenal since December after suffering a calf injury but Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is back in contention for the FA Cup meeting with Southampton on Saturday.
