<p>Yamal has emerged as one of the most exciting young talents on the planet after bursting onto the scene and making himself a key player for both Barcelona and Spain. Barcelona president Joan Laporta's adviser Enric Masip has said that Yamal's performances have even drawn a mega offer for the teenager and suggested it came from PSG. "The president has already said that he had an offer of €250 million that he had rejected, that he had never considered it. It came from France," he told <em>El Chiringuito</em>. However, PSG insist Masip's comments are "one million percent" incorrect and say there is no way they could afford to make such a bid, according to <a href="https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Le-psg-dement-les-propos-du-vice-president-du-barca-sur-une-offre-mirobolante-pour-lamine-yamal/1521288" target="_blank"><em>L'Equipe</em></a>.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Laporta has also said he rejected&nbsp;a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/barcelona-rejected-record-breaking-250m-offer-lamine-yamal-psg-agent-claims/bltb4695194b54b9b7c">world-record fee of €250m (£211m/$277m)</a> for Yamal from PSG before the summer window. The Ligue 1 giants were on the lookout for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/second-coming-cristiano-ronaldo-forget-tactical-concerns-kylian-mbappe-born-real-madrid/blteada5bb12ed07263" target="_blank">left the club when his contract expired and move to Real Madrid</a>. PSG were also linked with a host of other attackers including <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/psg-kylian-mbappe-replacement-victor-osimhen-napoli-khvicha-kvaratskhelia/blt55e85360d67fc426" target="_blank">Victor Osimhen, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia</a> and Julian Alvarez but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/psg-kylian-mbappe-replacement-victor-osimhen-napoli-khvicha-kvaratskhelia/blt55e85360d67fc426" target="_blank">missed out on all three as well as Yamal</a>.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Tensions between Barcelona and PSG have intensified over recent years. Barca famously enjoyed a famous 6-1 comeback win over PSG in the Champions League and then saw star forward Neymar move to the Ligue 1 club just four months later after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/100-most-expensive-football-transfers-all-time/ikr3oojohla51fh9adq3qkwpu" target="_blank">his €222m release clause&nbsp;was met</a>. Lionel Messi also moved from <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/messi-psg-two-year-contract-free-transfer-barcelona-departure/abx3a6jlwcoc12co9uve9uap8" target="_blank">Barca to PSG</a>, after his contract at Camp Nou expired, while the French club also snapped up <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/ousmane-dembele-explains-why-he-has-hit-form-psg-dig-at-barcelona/blt0e2020501c8f8451" target="_blank">Ousmane Dembele from Barca</a>.</p>
