Chelsea preparing to part with Kylian Hazard as contract runs down

Kylian Hazard, the younger brother of Chelsea star Eden, is heading towards the exit at Stamford Bridge less than five months after arriving from Hungarian side Ujpest.

The Blues are prepared to let the 22-year-old leave either on loan or in a permanent deal during the current transfer window after handing him just a one-year deal in the summer of 2017.

Chelsea will happily keep the Belgian until the end of the season and allow him to hit free agency, but they believe a move elsewhere will better serve his development and are keen to help him progress in his career.

Eden undoubtedly helped to bring his brother to west London, but he has not made a matchday squad since signing and has only seen 154 minutes of action for Chelsea’s U23 side.

Kylian has joined in with Antonio Conte’s squad during some first-team sessions this term, but it is hoped that a Belgian club will now give him a chance.

The young forward has a similar playing style to his brothers Eden and Thorgan, the latter of which plays for Borussia Monchengladbach in Germany and the Belgium national team.

Kylian is the second youngest of four Hazard brothers and made 42 appearances in the Hungarian first division between 2015 and 2017 before suffering a serious knee injury.

The youngest Hazard brother, Ethan, is currently at Tubize, the small professional club where all of the siblings came through in Belgium.

Meanwhile, Chelsea remain keen to tie down Eden Hazard to a new long-term contract, despite his current deal having two-and-a-half years to run.

An agreement has yet to be reached and the oldest Hazard brother is attracting interest from Real Madrid.
