Klopp’s plan was to take a break from the dugout, having run out of energy, but was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/usmnt-initial-contact-jurgen-klopp-former-liverpool-boss-top-target-replace-gregg-berhalter/blt55545e90f3bb2c40" target="_blank">sounded out by the United States</a> following their decision to part company with Gregg Berhalter. Said <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jurgen-klopp-rejects-u-s-soccer-usmnt-head-coach/blt26892c834a432226" target="_blank">approach has been politely rebuffed</a>, with the 57-year-old instead <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/video-jurgen-klopp-back-at-liverpool-former-liverpool-manager-makes-first-return-anfield-watch-taylor-swift-gig/blt1776095517477470" target="_blank">strengthening his ties to Liverpool</a>.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Klopp has agreed to become an honorary ambassador of the <a href="https://www.liverpoolfc.com/foundation/news/jurgen-klopp-proud-be-named-first-ever-lfc-foundation-honorary-ambassador " target="_blank">LFC Foundation</a> – the club’s official charity – and has said of continuing to work for a cause that he supported wholeheartedly across his time in England: “The LFC Foundation does an incredible job in the community, both in the Liverpool City Region and beyond. I am really proud to continue my work with them and be named the first ever LFC Foundation honorary ambassador. I look forward to seeing what we can do with that now that I have more time on my hands.”

Klopp donated a number of unique items worn and signed by him to the LFC Foundation following his final game as Liverpool boss, which helped to generate £40,000 in just seven days. He will now continue to raise awareness for the charity while supporting them in further fund-raising activities.
