Liverpool piled more misery onto Arsenal and booked their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup after coming out on top in a hotly-contested game in north London on Sunday, winning 2-0 thanks to a Jakub Kiwior own goal and a stoppage-time Luis Diaz strike.
The Gunners dominated the first half, but poor finishing let them down, with Martin Odegaard going closest when he hit the crossbar from close-range. Liverpool, though, almost went into the break ahead as Alexander-Arnold hit the woodwork himself late in the half.
Jurgen Klopp made some tactical tweaks at half-time, and that allowed his side to get more of a foothold in the game, with Luis Diaz forcing Aaron Ramsdale into a good save while substitute Diogo Jota headed against the bar from a corner.
But it was Kiwior who eventually put the ball into his own net, heading Alexander-Arnold's wicked free-kick past Ramsdale with just 10 minutes left on the clock to send the travelling supporters into raptures. And the game was sealed in the final seconds, as Diaz smashed a shot into the top corner at Ramsdale's near post after a sweeping counter-attack.
