<p>The offender was handed a six-month sentence for <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/la-liga-file-eighth-vinicius-junior-racism-complaint-barcelona-court-abuse-of-real-madrid-star-clasico-clash/blt57b1b2596709bee8" target="_blank">abusing Vinicius at a match</a> between Mallorca and Real Madrid on February 5, 2023, and an additional six-month sentence for racially abusing Chukwueze at the same stadium on February 18 that year, in a match between Mallorca and Villareal. On top of that prison time, he has received a three-year Spanish football stadium ban.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Racial abuse against players is an issue that has plagued La Liga for a shocking amount of time. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/vinicius-junior-la-liga-spanish-football-facilitating-racism/bltf7197711ead997d9" target="_blank">Vinicius has condemned the Spanish top flight for facilitating abuse</a> rather than attempting to properly stamp it out, and the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/vinicius-breaking-point-spain-racism-real-madrid-kylian-mbappe/blt3212c9bda085926b" target="_blank">Real Madrid star recently opened up about feeling 'targeted'</a> by racist fans across the country.</p>
