<p>In early August, it emerged that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/welcome-to-wrexham-star-arthur-massey-dies-aged-100-club-fans-pay-tribute-second-world-war-veteran/blt5ff3044ac619f3a2#csa3fd8de1730dd48b" target="_blank">100-year-old Massey had died</a>. The Second World War veteran, who reached the milestone earlier this year, was a popular figure on the club's Welcome to Wrexham TV show and after <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-tribute-wrexham-fan-arthur-massey-death-100-years-old/bltc19dff787517e30a" target="_blank">co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenny paid tribute to him</a>, the Red Dragons honoured him further still on Wednesday.</p>

WHAT WREXHAM SAID

<p>Wrexham have been a huge success story in recent seasons. Since the Hollywood duo took over the club in early 2021, they have risen from the <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wrexham-story-ryan-reynolds-owned-national-league-title/bltc41969ec8e37de0e" target="_blank">National League</a> to <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wrexham-promotion-league-one-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-forest-green-rovers-mk-dons-barrow/bltc8ffdccfc813e664" target="_blank">League One</a> and are developing a worldwide fanbase thanks to Reynolds and McElhenney's connections and business acumen. But off the pitch, classy acts such as these have endeared themselves to a growing number of football fans - both in and outside of the club.</p>

<p>In-form Wrexham, who sit second in League One after picking up 10 points from a possible 12 so far, host local rivals Shrewsbury Town on Saturday, before taking on Salford City in the EFL Trophy three days later.</p>
