There were only four Premier League matches on offer this week and yet there were plenty of fantastic performances. Liverpool dominated as expected, Crystal Palace got a much needed win, Bournemouth scored a late winner to push themselves into the top 10, and Everton made it past a 10-man Stoke team.
There were some big disappointments with Wilfried Zaha and Xherdan Shaqiri but here's who made it into the best performing line-up from a Fantasy perspective.
GK: Wayne Hennessey - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 2 Saves, 1 Clean Sheet = 8 Points
DF: James Tomkins - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Goal, 1 Clean Sheet = 14 Points
Tomkins has been more known for his injury history than his performances on the pitch, but he put in a great display on Saturday. The Palace defender notched both a goal and the clean sheet largely thanks to a fantastic goal line clearance late in the match. You obviously don’t want to bring him in right before he faces the devastating Liverpool attack, but Palace do have a decent enough run through the end of the season to consider owning Tomkins.
GettyDF: Andrew Robertson - Liverpool - 1 Game, 1 Assist, 1 Clean Sheet = 10 Points
DF: Virgil Van Dijk - Liverpool - 1 Game, 1 Clean Sheet = 7 Points
MF: Mo Salah - Liverpool - 1 Game, 4 Goals, 1 Assist = 29 Points
In our preview article for this shortened gameweek we mentioned that Salah was the clear cut captain choice, and he backed that up in style. If you gave him the Fantasy armband, he earned you a whopping 58 points all on his own. That's more than double the average team score in the Goal game this week (25 points). His third goal was the cream of the crop when he took on five Watford defenders and still managed to score. He will not have double game week this season, but you should own him through the end of the season regardless.
MF: Junior Stanislas - Bournemouth - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points
MF: Sadio Mane - Liverpool - 1 Game, 2 Assists = 8 Points
MF: Luka Milivojevic - Crystal Palace - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points
Wilfried Zaha returned to the side and seemed to be the Fantasy option to own, but instead Mr. Reliable struck again. Milivojevic is now the only player to break 100 points in the Goal game this season and it’s largely down to the fact that he is the established penalty taker for the London outfit. In fact, the Serbian leads the league in penalty goals with six. At just £5.9m, Milivojevic is one of the best budget options in the game.
GettyMF: Jordan Ibe - Bournemouth - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 8 Points
FWD: Cenk Tosun - Everton - 1 Game, 2 Goals = 12 Points
After a slow start to his career at Goodison Park, Tosun has finally been rounding into form. His match winning brace against Stoke means the Turkish striker has scored four goals in the last three matches. This job now looks his to lose with the value of both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Wayne Rooney taking a hit. Matches against Manchester City and Liverpool consecutively may give owners pause but his form may just triumph over his fixtures in coming weeks.
FWD: Roberto Firmino - Liverpool - 1 Game, 1 Goal = 7 Points
