North have expanded their FIFA division by signing another of the world's best players in Marcus "Marcuzo" Jørgensen.
Ex-Manchester City pro Marcuzo is an eye-catching arrival to a team who also boast former world champion August "Agge" Rosenmeier.
Ahead of joining City last December, Marcuzo won the first ever FIFA eClub World Cup in August 2017.
And earlier this year the Dane finished in the top four of the FIFA eWorld Cup, taking home a prize of $20,000 after losing to eventual runner-up Stefano Pinna in the PlayStationo final.
Having moved closer to home, Marcuzo, 19, is delighted with the move and is excited to team up with good friend Agge.
Marcuzo said: “It feels absolutely amazing signing with North. In my opinion, North is one of the most ambitious esport organizations - so it is definitely a dream coming true.
"I'm really looking forward to play in the North jersey, my two primary goals are to become World Champion and to develop as an esport athlete.
"I had a lot of offers, but I am convinced that North offers the best setting in Denmark to fulfil those goals.
“I also cannot express how much it means to me to get to play on the same team as my friend Agge.
"We are friends outside the game and now we also get to ping-pong about our game as a team. It is the optimal condition for both of us."
The two players will link up as the Danish eSuperliga starts, one of the many virtual leagues licensed by EA Sports, following in the footsteps of the Bundesliga and the Premier League.
Over seven weeks, 16 clubs will fight for a $45,000 prize pool and more importantly, world ranking points to help players qualify for the eWorld Cup finals next year.
It’s been a busy end of the year for North who are new to FIFA esports. As well as their new star signing, the organisation have announced a new partnership with Red Bull, lasting until the end of next year.
The deal means Marcuzo and Agge will be able to take advantage of Red Bull's expansive network and training facilities outside the game.
And Christian Sørensen, North CEO, believes this is an important step for the team:
Sørensen said: “If you, like us, want to be a leading esport organisation in Scandinavia and Europe, you need to work alongside big brands with great ambitions of having a big reach to an audience that is becoming still more powerful.
"That is why the match between Red Bull and North is perfect.”
