His wife Valentina has posted on social media confirming that they are separating. The couple have two children together and they both hope to have a smooth and peaceful process going forward.</p>

<p>On Instagram, Cervantes said: "Enzo and I have decided to take some distance from each other today. But we will always be family, and we will support each other in everything. Because there are two children involved who need a lot of love from us. I know the person Enzo is and what an excellent father he is, as well as the heart he has. And that is enough for me. <p>Fernandez was also recently<a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/enzo-fernandez-disqualified-driving-fine-chelsea-star-punishment-two-offences/bltd79fbeb9eeb4a813" target="_blank"> hit with a driving ban</a> and it seems his off-the-pitch issues are translating to his career. Head coach Enzo Maresca seems to have little faith in the Argentina midfielder, dropping him to the bench for Chelsea's last two Premier League games. </p>

<p>Despite his struggles, Fernandez will hope to be back on the pitch to help his team recover from their Carabao Cup elimination at the hands of Newcastle on Wednesday.
