Iheanacho: Crime for Leicester City’s Rodgers not to start Super Eagle – Fans after defeat against Manchester City

Kelechi Iheanacho was benched and Leicester City lost 1-0 to Manchester City, so then many African fans were calling for regular starts for the Super Eagle.

The Nigerian came on in the 71st minute for Jamie Vardy and his impact was felt as Leicester City attacked more as compared to how they sat back, especially in the first half.

A minute after Iheanacho’s introduction, Patson Daka was thrown into action to replace Caglar Soyuncu, and both substitutions reignited the Foxes going forward. For that reason, fans have called on Leicester’s boss, Brendan Rodgers, to have the African stars in the starting line-up more often.

In fact, the Super Eagle managed two shots on target and one key pass, and although his impact was felt – in the attacking department - he could do little to stop his former club from claiming the slim win.

Meanwhile, Leicester have now lost each of their last four Premier League home matches against Manchester City without scoring a single goal, which is their longest-ever losing run at home to City in the competition.
