Nick Pope was the hero for Newcastle as they secured a point in their first game back in the Champions League for 20 years with a battling 0-0 draw away at AC Milan on Tuesday. The Magpies goalkeeper was almost constantly under attack from the home side and pulled off eight saves to keep his team level.
But while Pope rose to the occasion, the same cannot be said for his Newcastle team-mates, as the likes of Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes were massively disappointing. Indeed, Eddie Howe's team managed just one shot on target in the whole game and it came right at the end of a weak display that will leave fans hoping for much better next time around.
