Saturday’s big clash in Croatia saw Hajduk play out a 1-1 draw with Rijeka, but the match was remarkable for more than what the players did.

The game was halted for several minutes in the second half due to fireworks being lit by the home fans, but there was an altogether more dramatic – and sinister – scene in stoppage time as one hooligan entered the field wielding what appeared to be an iron bar.
He made to attack the referee without any obvious motive, and for about 90 seconds there were no police or stewards chasing him.
Rijeka, who are Europe’s only undefeated team in all competitions this season, had a travelling support of around 1000 that arrived by boat to the game.

They watched Hamza Barry give the hosts the lead after 31 minutes, but a penalty from Roman Bezjak levelled matters around 10 minutes from time.
Despite the draw, their side still leads Croatia's top flight by four points.
