Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc insists that he “knows nothing” about reports linking Christian Pulisic to Liverpool.
The USA international attacker is one of the most highly regarded young players in the game, with Bild reporting interest from Anfield, where former BVB boss Jurgen Klopp has led the Reds to the Champions League final.
Pulisic, who is under contract until 2020, has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League side for a fee in the range of €45 million, though Zorc has rejected knowledge of such a deal.
“I’m in constant contact with Jurgen Klopp,” he admitted to Bild, “but I know nothing about that.”
Pulisic has played a total of 40 times for Dortmund this season and has chalked up seven assists and four goals.
The 19-year-old has previously admitted that he is a Manchester United fan and did not rule out the prospect of moving to the Premier League.
“Of course, right now I am under contract with Dortmund and I’m not looking around or doing anything like that so I’m very focused there. But, yeah, it’s cool to hear all this stuff!” he told ESPN when asked about transfer rumours in February.
“Of course, the Premier League is an unbelievable league.
“You never know in football what can happen, but right now, I'm focused with Dortmund, and yeah, that's that.”
Dortmund have endured a relatively disappointing campaign as they have been unable to challenge Bayern Munich’s dominance domestically, while they still have to secure their place in the Champions League next season with two Bundesliga matches of the campaign remaining.
