The ex-Barcelona loanee is reportedly going to sign for the club this week for £21m ($28m) on a salary of £13m ($17m) - excluding bonuses.

He was then shipped out on loan to Bayern and then Barcelona in the past 18 months and, although Guardiola <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/pep-guardiola-makes-joao-cancelo-transfer-admission-as-he-confirms-portuguese-outcast-has-returned-to-training-with-man-city/blta5d056e3e4d14591" target="_blank">opened the door to a possible return for the Portugal</a> international, all parties are set for a profitable outcome with this transfer.

Cancelo joined City from Juventus in 2019 and went on to make 154 appearances for the Manchester outfit. In that time, he scored nine goals, and won three Premier League trophies as well as the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.
