WHAT HAPPENED?

Zidane isn't the only academy prospect to get a nod for Wednesday's clash. Mario Marin, Zico Paz, Fran Gonzalez and Lucas Canizares - son of former Blancos goalkeeper Santiago - have also been named in Ancelotti's 21-man squad for Napoli's visit to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti showed his faith in the youth contingent <a href="https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2023/11/28/6565c9e006c8de0027dd3f74-directo.html" target="_blank">in a press conference</a> ahead of Wednesday's game. "There is a lot of talk about the group that does not play and now we must take advantage of it. They have contributed for the little they have played, Nico and Gonzalo.
