<p>Lineker opened Saturday's Match of the Day with a touching tribute to West Ham's stricken Antonio, who was involved in a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/west-ham-michail-antonio-car-crash-statement-thoughts-prayers/blt94119665e13bdb70" target="_blank">horror car accident on Saturday</a> and was reportedly airlifted to hospital. The Hammers have confirmed that the striker is conscious and stable, but no further updates have yet been issued about his condition, though he was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/michail-antonio-wreckage-horror-car-crash-trapped-west-ham-ex-wife-hospital/blt9835abab069c966d" target="_blank">apparently trapped in the car for over an hour</a> after the accident before firefighters were able to cut him free.</p>

<p>Antonio's ex-wife has reportedly travelled to be with Antonio in hospital, as he begins his road to recovery. After the news, Lineker made sure to send his best wishes to the Jamaica international and his family. </p>
