It was the team's fourth loss in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign, and they dropped to 14th. After Ten Hag's departure, his assistant Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge of the club as an interim coach while the search gets underway for a new permanent boss.</p>

Carsley took charge of the Three Lions after Gareth Southgate's exit and will remain in charge of the team for their upcoming UEFA Nations League clashes in November. In January, he'll formally <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/thomas-tuchel-german-new-england-manager-difficult-character-nomadic-career-alarm-bells-fa/bltc12a8fca2f4ebca4" target="_blank">hand over the reins to Thomas Tuchel</a>.</p>
