They luckily made the sales of Yankubah Minteh and Elliot Anderson ahead of the deadline and could have been hit with a deduction if not for those sales.

WHAT HAPPENED?

As per <a href="https://x.com/CraigHope_DM/status/1807565153497403739" target="_blank">Daily Mail's Craig Hope</a>, Newcastle were ready to make the fire sale of winger Anthony Gordon, if the sales of Minteh and Anderson could not have been acted upon before the deadline. The Magpies feared a potential 10-point penalty for next season if they breached the PSR regulations for this term.

Since the passing of the June 30 deadline, Newcastle have already begun confirming their summer signings for next season as they announced deals to sign <a href="https://x.com/NUFC/status/1807558533942001792" target="_blank">Odysseas Vlachodimos</a> from Nottingham Forest, <a href="https://x.com/NUFC/status/1807700728007246078" target="_blank">Lewis Hall</a> from Chelsea and <a href="https://x.com/NUFC/status/1807715857419657671" target="_blank">goalkeeper John Ruddy</a> as a free agent.
