The World Cup winner walked away from Parc des Princes when reaching the end of his contract. Mbappe has since <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/kylian-mbappe-50-goals-first-real-madrid-season-emulate-cristiano-ronaldo/bltf9975cf0b7736cdc" target="_blank">become another ‘Galactico’ addition at La Liga giants Real Madrid</a>. While ties have been severed with PSG, the 25-year-old remains in contact with his former employers.

WHAT HAPPENED?

That is because the France international <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/kylian-mbappe-sue-psg-real-madrid-signing-legal-action-unpaid-wages-mother-admits/blt1eda242fb8087c08" target="_blank">claims to be owed €55 million (£47m/$61m) by the Ligue 1 title holders</a>. He is said to be due the final payment of a €36m signing bonus, the last three months of his salary and an ‘ethics bonus’ for the period of April-June 2024.

<a href="https://www.lemonde.fr/societe/article/2024/08/20/kylian-mbappe-contre-attaque-pour-recuperer-des-sommes-impayees-par-le-psg_6287200_3224.html " target="_blank">Le Monde</a> claims that Mbappe’s lawyers have referred the matter to the legal committee of the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) and, through an intermediary of the French Football Federation (FFF), to European football’s governing body at UEFA.

The LFP legal committee have the power to impose a transfer ban on PSG until the situation has been resolved.
