WHAT HAPPENED?

Lemina was absent from the Wolves squad for the game following the death of his father, with the players paying tribute by holding up his shirt and wearing black armbands for the match. Lemina had scored on his last outing for Wolves against Chelsea and <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wolves-mario-lemina-dedicates-goal-chelsea-hospitalised-father/bltce9ba2c7b926ab3f#csd865eb07ebb0c995" target="_blank">had dedicated his goal to his father</a>.

THE EXPLANATION

Wolves offered their condolences to Lamina and his father ahead of the match with a statement on social media: "Our hearts go out to Mario Lemina after the passing of his father yesterday morning. The whole pack send their love and sympathy to Mario and his family. Mario’s teammates will wear black armbands today in honour of his father’s memory."
