Martial, who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/anthony-martial-man-utd-departure-emotional-farewell/bltb8f0d3cc0a3b09b0" target="_blank">left Manchester United</a> this summer after his contract expired at the end of the 2023-24 season, remains a free agent. While the summer transfer window was still open, the striker was <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/anthony-martial-wanted-two-champions-league-clubs-after-man-utd-exit-mls-transfer-option/blt90658ff6ea508e74#cs585e2d618502c8df" target="_blank">linked with two Champions League clubs</a> as Atalanta and Lille reportedly showed interest in the French forward, however, neither of the deals materialised.

Now <a href="https://www.sport24.gr/football/aek-metagrafes-exopragmatiki-protasi-tis-enosis-gia-ton-marsial.10373444.html" target="_blank">SPORT24</a> reports that Greek Super League giants AEK Athens have approached the ex-United star with an offer that would make him the highest-paid player in the club's history. The offer reportedly is more than what former Spurs player Erik Lamela currently earns at the club, €2million (£1.7m/$2.2m).

THE BIGGER PICTURE

However, the report also claims that Martial might not be tempted to move to the Greek league at the age of 28 as he could wait for offers from Europe's top five leagues.
