WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Lewis certainly impressed his manager against North Macedonia. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/southgate-impressed-rico-lewis-england-debut-slams-var-penalty-decision-north-macedonia/bltf534f49f4f17ee0d#cs3714ec744360a0f9" target="_blank">Southgate said after the 1-1 draw</a> that he felt the Manchester City youngster was "excellent" and the decision to award a penalty against him was "very, very harsh." Lewis will be hoping he can now make a <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/uncapped-england-players-euro-2024-squad/blt3cca43a7c0671eb5" target="_blank">late push for England's Euro 2024 squad</a> and his versatility will make him an attractive option. The youngster can play in both full-back positions as well as in midfield.</p>
