WATCH: Movers & Makers - Coutinho, Messi, Hee-Chan and Mahrez out to flourish in UEFA Champions League

Europe's finest are primed to go head-to-head this week, as Matchday three of the UEFA Champions League rolls around with intent.

As ever, there were talking points and excellent performances aplenty during MD2, with Bayern Munich's 7-2 mauling of Tottenham catching the eye and shocking the world in equal measure.

Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho was at the heart of the Bundesliga champions' clinical display; he was involved in seven direct attacks on that famous night in north London - he'll be hoping to get the creative juices flowing against Olympiacos on Tuesday night.

Back at Coutinho's parent club, Barcelona, Lionel Messi delivered another attacking masterclass following his return from injury. Despite not playing in Barca's opening UCL clash against Borussia Dortmund, the Argentine has registered the most carries ending in a take-on (13) in the competition; will he add a goal or two to that impressive statistic against SK Slavia Praha?

Another attacker who has greatly impressed during the opening weeks of the UCL is FC Salzburg's Hwang Hee-Chan, who is first for involvement in expected goals (xG) sequences with 3.98, sitting pretty with two goals and a further three assists in just two UCL matches - will he continue to shine against SSC Napoli?

Hee-Chan tops the rankings for expected goals, while Manchester City playmaker Riyad Mahrez is out in front when it comes to expected assists (1.56). The Algerian seems to be at the peak of his powers this season; will Atalanta feel the full force this week?
