<p>That is the opinion of the Portuguese’s former Manchester United team-mate Wes Brown. Ronaldo is now <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/contract-extension-cristiano-ronaldo-40-al-nassr-superstar-prolong-62-goal-stint-saudi-arabia/blt9b5fe85776a669ee" target="_blank">39 years of age, but is showing no sign of slowing down</a> at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr. He <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/records-follow-me-cristiano-ronaldo-reacts-more-history-al-nassr-superstar-50-goals-season/blt6adf896e2fd67e6e" target="_blank">hit 50 goals for them last season</a> and remains a talismanic presence in 2024-25.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Ronaldo has <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/gobsmacked-cristiano-ronaldo-retirement-date-revealed-former-man-utd-team-mate-rio-ferdinand/blt0cf499ce1a27f434" target="_blank">offered no indication that retirement is in his thoughts</a>, with Brown – speaking in association with <a href="https://www.instantcasino.com/" target="_blank"><em>Instant Casino</em></a> – telling <strong>GOAL</strong> when asked if the all-time great will play on well into his 40s: “He has talked about it. The way that the guy looks after himself is unbelievable. To keep yourself that fit at his age is an achievement in itself. He’ll continue doing that, it’s his normal routine, and it’s one of them where Ronaldo can finish when he wants to finish. I’m sure that’s how it’ll be. If he’s enjoying it, I’m sure he’ll continue. There will come a point where he hangs them up. I don’t think it’s any time soon, even though he is getting on now.”</p>

The ex-England international defender added: “He’s talked about that for a while now. To get that history, to get that far – 1,000 goals – is an achievement that I don’t think will be broken if that were the case.”</p>
