<p>The 37-year-old announced on social media on Saturday that he was hanging up his boots after nearly two decades as a professional footballer. After last playing for Turkish side Eyupspor in 2023, the former Netherlands international has decided to call time on his career.</p>

<p>Babel played for some huge European clubs such as Liverpool, Ajax, Galatasaray and more. He chalked up 69 caps for his country and won multiple trophies along the way.</p>
