Even though he is 32 and is in the autumn years of his career, Reds boss Slot - who <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/arne-slot-joins-liverpool-reds-confirm-appointment-of-dutchman-as-jurgen-klopp-s-successor-at-anfield/blt9d784afe0fa57a8d" target="_blank">succeeded Jurgen Klopp</a> earlier this year - believes the Egyptian international can still play for a long time yet.</p>

Mo can score goals because of good runs from other players, or because of buildups from the team. So I think Mo also needs the team."</p>

While he may not be the player he once was, the former Roma star still netted 25 goals in all competitions last season and losing him would be a huge blow for Liverpool.</p>

<p>Next up for Salah and Slot's Liverpool is a home clash against Brentford next Sunday, in what will be the new manager's first competitive game at Anfield. The following weekend they travel to bitter rivals Manchester United on September 1.</p>
