Kylian Mbappe picked up where he left off at the 2018 World Cup, while Lionel Messi was up to his old tricks as La Liga opened its season, with both stars headline the latest FIFA Ultimate Team of the Week.
Mbappe came on for his first action of the season as a substitute at half-time with Paris Saint-Germain trailing Guingamp, but scored a brace in a 3-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Messi had a brace of his own as Barcelona began their La Liga season with a 3-0 win over Deportivo Alavas.
Messi’s countryman Sergio Aguero also makes the list after he had a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 6-1 over Huddersfield Town. David Silva, who also scored a goal in that win, makes the list as well.
A pair of players outside of Europe also made the XI, as Santos Laguna goalkeeper Jonathan Orozco grabs a spot on the strength of his performance in his side’s 3-1 win over high-powered Tigres, while Kendall Waston scored both goals for the Vancouver Whitecaps against the New York Red Bulls, earning the centre-back his place.
