GAME PREVIEW

Tigres will look to bounce back in week two after a surprising defeat at Puebla to start off the Liga MX Clausura.

Tuca Ferretti's side fell 2-1 at the Estadio Universitario to open the season but the defending champions did get a goal from Enner Valencia, who looks to be picking up where he left off after a nine-goal season in the Apertura.

The home side will have to overcome Jurgen Damm's absence for another week after a New Year's mishap with fireworks, but Tigres have the depth to make up for any losses in attack.

Santos Laguna will come into the match full of confidence, as Robert Siboldi's side seemed to put its 14th-place finish in the Apertura in the rear-view mirror with an emphatic 4-2 win over Lobos BUAP last weekend.

Djaniny was the star of the show, scoring a hat trick to nearly equal his total of four goals collected in 17 Apertura appearances.

It wasn't just the Cape Verdean striker who shined last weekend though, as Osvaldo Martinez picked up three assists in the game at the Estadio Corona.

Though Santos will come into the match on a high, it will be a much tougher test than the club faced last weekend.

Tigres won seven and drew one of its eight home fixtures during the Apertura regular season, and will be favored to get the first win of their title defense on Saturday.
