The Portuguese star has claimed that if he gets a chance, he will try and convince £105m-rated Benfica midfielder Neves to pick Manchester City over their arch-rivals United.The 19-year-old has been <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/joao-neves-man-utd-january-transfer-100m-benfica-wonderkid/blta11338bf20891846" target="_blank">linked with a move to Old Trafford</a>, although the Portuguese side are <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/benfica-no-plans-to-sell-joao-neves-in-january-set-astronomical-price-tag-man-utd-target/blt36f54a94105c03bb#cs04adc6666d90308e" target="_blank">reluctant to part ways with their star player</a> in the upcoming window. The player has a release clause of €120m (£105m/$131m) in his contract, which reportedly became active in the summer.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Neves graduated from the Eagles' youth academy and made his senior debut for the club in 2022. In the ongoing season, he has appeared in 18 matches, recording one goal and one assist.
