WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>Cucurella came up against Haaland on Sunday when Manchester City faced Chelsea in their Premier League opener. The striker <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/man-city-player-ratings-chelsea-erling-haaland-matro-kovacic/bltbe1cf750ca45bbbc" target="_blank">needed just 18 minutes to open his account for the new season</a>, shrugging off the attentions of Cucurella to score past Robert Sanchez.</p><p></p>

<p>Haaland was asked about Cucurella after the game and had clearly heard all about the Chelsea man's chant during Spain's celebrations. He told <em>Viaplay</em>: "<span>He is a funny man. Last season he asked for my shirt. And this summer he sings a song about me."</span><strong></strong></p>

WHAT HAALAND SAID

<p><span>Haaland has scored more Premier League goals in August (13) than Chelsea have managed as a team (11) since the start of the 2022-23 season.</span></p>
