Liverpool legend Carragher has since got into a heated debate with a City fan about where their success has come from in recent years, and felt it was "nonsense" they had bigger revenues than the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, and more.</p>

Incidentally, in early 2023, analysis by Deloitte found that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/which-are-the-worlds-richest-football-clubs-in-2021/psbb7gblbm6j1m5mc753tv1us" target="_blank">City were the highest revenue generating football team</a> - ahead of the mighty Madrid. While Los Blancos have overtaken them since, the Cityzens are ostensibly one of the most lucrative clubs in the world. Whether they did it fairly or not will come to light in this ongoing trial.</p>
