<p>Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has spoken about his players regarding being called up to represent Bafana Bafana and other national teams.&nbsp;</p><p>Bafana mentor Hugo Broos announced his preliminary squad for the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers next month.&nbsp;</p><p>Seven Pirates players were named in the squad, including Thabiso Sesane, who received his first call-up. Riveiro expressed his happiness - insisting Bucs players deserve the recognition.&nbsp;</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>"I think it’s good news any time that there’s a Pirates player on the list of whichever national team, in this case, Bafana Bafana. I don’t even know, you are telling me the news right now," Riveiro told the media.&nbsp;</p><p>"I don’t even know who is there, I was quite busy there outside today. But happiness for the boys. I think if coach Hugo Broos is putting eyes on our boys, we are happy, and it’s because they are performing well and good enough to get that responsibility because it’s a big one to play for your country.</p><p>"It’s something that makes us feel very proud and hopefully in the future, little by little we get more space there. (Thabiso) Sesane going to the national team, hopefully, because I guess this is a preliminary list, it’s a new opportunity for one more player to be surrounded by experienced players, to get that experience on the continent," he continued.&nbsp;</p><p>"We get the benefit of all of these things that are happening like going to the group stages of the Caf Champions League, and having the opportunity to challenge the best teams in the continent," he added.&nbsp;</p><p>"All those things together are the keys to keep the group ambitious, to keep the group humble, and to keep the group wanting to be something in football."</p>

WHAT WAS SAID

<p>Sesane and Tshegofatso Mabasa joined the likes of Nkosinathi Sibisi, Sipho Chaine, Relebohile Mofokeng, Thalente Mbatha, and Patrick Maswanganyi, who were already in the squad.&nbsp;</p><p>On the other hand, Olisa Ndah was also called up to the Nigeria squad earlier this month for the Afcon qualifiers. Moreover, Deon Hotto is a permanent fixture in the Namibia team.&nbsp;</p><p>The red-hot Soweto giants have not lost a match this season. They drew two and won seven in all competitions so far.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>All Pirates players in the  Bafana squad will be hoping to make the cut in the final team that will be announced by Broos soon.&nbsp;SA will play against Congo-Brazzaville in double-header matches next month.&nbsp;</p><p>For now, Riveiro and his troops will be focusing on their Premier Soccer League match against Richards Bay on Sunday.</p>
