With the 2024 MLS season not due to begin until the end of February, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/player/l-messi/c5ryhn04g9goikd0blmh83aol" target="_blank">Messi</a> could be forgiven for kicking back during the Christmas holidays. Messi began life in the US by winning the inaugural Leagues Cup, but <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/team/inter-miami/7a7uyvix8axi28h7d3bwl4tbe" target="_blank">Inter Miami</a> then failed to reach the MLS play-offs. After a few niggling injuries blighted the final few months of the 2023 season, he's clearly determined to enjoy a more successful 2024.

Messi has now been joined in Miami by his close friend and former Barcelona teammate <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-us/lists/lionel-messi-and-luis-suarez-together-at-last-inter-miami-confirm-signing-with-heartwarming-announcement/blt18da3c185f95d977" target="_blank">Luis Suarez</a>. With the Uruguayan acting as his attacking partner, a fully-fit and shredded Messi could be about to cause mayhem.
