WHAT HAPPENED?

A host of fans took to social media to slam the club's decision. An X user named <a href="https://x.com/olimccoole/status/1803381269373292574" target="_blank">Oli</a> even referenced the 115 FFP charges against City as he said of the Oasis singer: "Noel Gallagher is a bigger stain on this club than any financial rule break could ever be."A handle named <a href="https://x.com/headersonn/status/1803322111630491806" target="_blank">Headersonn</a> compared the fonts to the popular American animated series Rugrats, which initially aired on Nickelodeon back in 1993. He wrote: "It looks like Rugrats."<a href="https://x.com/BrandDNA/status/1803388594247385214" target="_blank">Stanley Johnson,</a> meanwhile, is convinced that the announcement was some sort of prank, as he wrote: "This new Man City kit with 'design' help from Noel Gallagher. Surely this is leak of next year's April Fools meme?"A handle named <a href="https://x.com/clxpnd/status/1803364445323669520" target="_blank">Cruyff Guy</a> mocked Gallagher's handwriting for being immature as he added: "I had no idea Noel Gallagher was a 5-year-old."A design agency named <a href="https://x.com/studiodbd/status/1803390552374673408" target="_blank">Studio DBD</a> also weighed in, stating: "Plot twist, it wasn’t Ai that took our jobs it was Noel Gallagher."

The first Manchester derby in the league will be held on December 14, while City will play their final game of the season on May 25 against Fulham. Gallagher's new font will not appear on shirts in any of City's top-flight matches.
