The report by Romano states that City boss Pep Guardiola is open to a reunion with Gundogan over the summer as the eight-time Premier League champions have not made any signings in midfield.

Barcelona's financial situation appears to be a key reason for Gudogan's potential exit. The Catalans are yet to register £51 million ($66.2 million) new signing Dani Olmo, and the German's sale may allow them to register the Spaniard.
