<p>With Chelsea one goal to the good thanks to Maika Hamano's opener, Nilden floated a cross into the box that caught out stopper Hampton in the 21st minute. The England international tried to palm the ball to safety but it was adjudged to have gone over the line and the goal stood. The keeper and her team-mates vehemently protested the decision but with no VAR in the Women's Super League, the goal could not be overturned. </p>

<p>After this match, WSL teams will break for the international break over the next fortnight. Sonia Bompastor's Chelsea then return to league action away to Everton on November 3 whereas Tottenham host London rivals West Ham on the same day.  </p>
