Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez and Jesus "Tecatito" Corona will start for Mexico against Wales on Monday as the team begins its final preparations for the World Cup.
Tigres winger Javier Aquino also gets the start in attack with Corona and Chicharito with Hirving Lozano starting on the bench after his standout season with PSV.
El Tri manager Juan Carlos Osorio has several players recovering from injuries with Andres Guardado, Diego Reyes and Hector Moreno unavailable for this contest. That has led to an inexperienced back line with America defender Edson Alvarez on the right, Hugo Ayala and Oswaldo Alanis in the center and Jesus Gallardo on the left back.
In the midfield, Jesus Molina anchors the middle with Erick Gutierrez, the surprise inclusion on Mexico's provisional roster, starting on his left where Guardado typically plays and Porto's Hector Herrera on his right wearing the armband.
This is the first of three preparation matches for El Tri before taking off to Russia for a World Cup group that includes Germany, South Korea and Sweden. After Monday's matchup they'll travel back to Mexico City ahead of a Saturday match against Scotland. That game is Osorio's deadline for players to get fit with a June 4 final deadline set by FIFA to name the squad. The final group then travels to Copenhagen to train and face Denmark in the final preparation match ahead of Russia.
