The London side have endured a woeful season as they sit ninth in the Premier League table and are set to end the campaign without any silverware. Pochettino's team are also set to miss out on European football again in the 2024-25 season.

WHAT HAPPENED?

The disappointing results under Pochettino come despite the huge transfer fees they have paid to strengthen the squad over recent transfer windows. Nevertheless, ex-Blues star Joe Cole believes that the Argentine should be trusted to turn the situation around.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

"Is he blameless? Chelsea are not where they want to be. That's a fact, you know, not where they should be," he said on TNT Sports. "With the money that they've spent and the players that have come in and out the door, I think Mauricio is doing a fantastic job. I think he's got the hardest job in world football, because I think it's clear that it's not in complete control of ins and outs coming in. That's for sure. Expectations are massive and rightly so, because that's what they used to the last 20 years, Chelsea had been as good as any club in Europe, barring probably Real Madrid, in terms of winning trophies that are competing in this league. So they just need to stick with him and move forward. Changing managers, I promise you, is not the right way to go."

WHAT JOE COLE SAID

After coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Aston Villa, Chelsea are now three games without a win. They take on Tottenham in a London derby in their next match on May 2.
