The Red Devils have put the 24-year-old on their shortlist of summer targets, <a href="https://www.footballtransfers.com/en/transfer-news/uk-premier-league/2024/07/man-utd-transfer-news-red-devils-consider-sporting-cp-midfielder-as-psg-maintain-ugarte-price" target="_blank">Football Transfers</a> reports. Monaco hero <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-midfield-shortlist-youssouf-fofana-transfer-option-manuel-ugarte-martin-zubimendi/blta054d2c9f9a529ea" target="_blank">Youssouf Fofana is also an option</a> for the Old Trafford club and it was recently <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/arsenal-man-utd-alert-transfer-target-youssouf-fofana-monaco/bltff6498b611a2d734" target="_blank">suggested that the Ligue 1 side are prepared to sell him in the current transfer window as he wants to leave</a>.

WHAT HAPPENED?

United have been linked with a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarte, who is said to be available for around £59 million ($76m). The Uruguayan has reportedly <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/man-utd-manuel-ugarte-erik-ten-hag-psg-red-devils-leny-yoro/blt9bc0c9d7730a834a" target="_blank">agreed personal terms with the Red Devils</a> but they are yet to strike a deal with the French champions.

Reports have also said that <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/chelsea-barcelona-man-utd-transfer-shortlist-left-back-tyrell-malacia-pre-season-tour/blt41f5d8f41d6c265e" target="_blank">United are eyeing another left-back</a> as Tyrell Malacia continues to struggle having been left out of their pre-season tour of the United States after missing the entirety of last season. Ex-Chelsea and Barcelona defender Marcos Alonso is on their list of targets for the position.
