<p>After Salah posted a photo on X of <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/liverpool-fans-say-same-thing-mohamed-salah-shares-photo-trent-alexander-arnold-virgil-van-dijk-contract-uncertainty/bltff1866a71cf31d00" target="_blank">himself, Virgil van Dijk, and Trent Alexander-Arnold,</a> all of whom are in the last six months of their Liverpool contracts, Carragher gave his take on the matter. He urged the Egyptian and the England international to "take a leaf out of" Van Dijk's book amid the ongoing uncertainty over their Anfield futures. That led Salah to poke fun at the Sky Sports pundit on Monday.</p>

WHAT HAPPENED?

<p>“Oh I don’t know,” Carragher said when asked what he made of Salah’s post. “I would say Virgil van Dijk has come out of this whole situation, as the captain of the club, in a higher esteem for me. The way he’s conducted himself, his performances on the pitch, the way he’s led the team. He hasn’t got involved in too much around this. Rather than speak about Trent Alexander-Arnold or Mo Salah, I’d probably like to pay tribute to Virgil van Dijk. He’s come across as a real statesman the way he’s handled it. He’s been asked questions, he’s knocked it away. He’s here to win the league, he wants to do his utmost for Liverpool. Fingers crossed he signs. WHAT JAMIE CARRAGHER AND MOHAMED SALAH SAID

<p>This is the latest chapter in what appears to be an <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jamie-carragher-mo-salah-feud-liverpool-star/blt8fc6ac1714f7478c#csd2c9e838de5aa370" target="_blank">ongoing feud between Carragher and Salah</a>. The former <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/jamie-carragher-blasts-selfish-mohamed-salah-contract-complaints-liverpool-premier-league-title-hopes/blt0c0b20fe3f43f966" target="_blank">accused the latter of being "selfish"</a> for how he was handling his contract situation with Liverpool late last year and Salah has hit back since then. This may go on until the 32-year-old either commits to leaving or signing a new deal. Incidentally, Carragher has singled out Van Dijk for praise as he has been the least vocal about his contract situation, with Salah linked with an exit and Alexander-Arnold wanted by Real Madrid.</p>

THE BIGGER PICTURE

<p>Salah, Van Dijk, and Alexander-Arnold are all able to sign pre-contract agreements with foreign teams as the trio are into the last six months of their Liverpool deals. Whether they stay at Anfield next season remains to be seen.</p>
