Mullin, who came off the bench in the victory, said there was a terrific atmosphere in the ground - on what was a "splendid day" overall.

On Saturday night, the striker, who missed the first two games of the season with a back injury, tweeted: "Splendid day down at the Cae Ras it was rocking!! ❤️ @Wrexham_AFC."

After <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wrexham-story-ryan-reynolds-owned-national-league-title/bltc41969ec8e37de0e" target="_blank">winning the National League</a> and backing it up with <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/wrexham-promotion-league-one-ryan-reynolds-rob-mcelhenney-forest-green-rovers-mk-dons-barrow/bltc8ffdccfc813e664" target="_blank">automatic promotion out of League Two</a> in two straight years, expectations have been high over what Wrexham can do in League One. But few would have expected they would be unbeaten from five games and sit top of the table - a feat they achieved after the Shrewsbury win. It is early days, but Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney's side have started superbly.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

Forward Mullin could get his first start of the season when Wrexham take on League Two side Salford City in the EFL Trophy on Tuesday night, before travelling to League One title rivals Birmingham City next Saturday.
