However, <a href="https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1815420159110381865" target="_blank">Fabrizio Romano</a> now claims that the Ligue 1 champions are not working on a deal to sign the United skipper and are rather looking to secure the signature of Fernandes' Portugal teammate Joao Neves from Benfica. Benfica president and Portugal legend <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/benfica-arsenal-man-utd-psg-target-joao-neves-eur120m-release-clause/blt5a89b9348c072215#csbebffe3d8bc7bf60" target="_blank">Rui Costa had recently admitted</a> that the club has received an offer for Neves, believed to be from PSG. The young midfielder currently has a release clause of €120 million (£101m/$130m).
