'Definitely' - Napoli striker Victor Osimhen confirms desire to play in the Premier League amid interest from Chelsea and Arsenal

The Napoli star, who recently <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/victor-osimhen-chelsea-napoli-transfer-new-contract/bltb068810c523b028e#cse4515fb3c6ee4ace" target="_blank">extended his stay at the club</a> by one more season until 2026, has claimed that he would want to play in the Premier League in the future. The Nigeria international has been heavily linked with a move to several top European clubs including English teams Chelsea and Arsenal in the past few months.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Speaking to <a href="https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/13049833/victor-osimhen-one-day-i-will-play-in-the-premier-league" target="_blank">Sky Sports</a>, the forward said, "I am happy with the president. I have a good relationship with him. I cannot lie. He has been with me since I signed for the club in 2020. I have a good relationship with his family also and for me it is always important to make sure we have this good relationship, to make sure there is nothing wrong regardless of what has happened. "So for me, ADL (Aurelio De Laurentiis) has been the kind of president who has been supportive to me outside the pitch and of course, I make sure I give my all and try to win the Scudetto for them. For me, it is always important to have this kind of relationship, to be happy with the owner of the club."On asked if he wants to play in the Premier League in the future, the Nigerian said, "Of course one day, definitely but for now, I have other plans in my career that I am looking forward to. So when the time comes, everyone knows."

WHAT VICTOR OSIMHEN SAID

The 25-year-old's new contract reportedly has a massive release clause of €130 million (£112m/$141m) but despite his increased value in the transfer market, the Blues could still make a move for him considering his willingness to come to England. <a href="https://www.goal.com/en/lists/kylian-mbappe-real-madrid-move-napoli-victor-osimhen-los-blancos-chiefs-internal-war/blt8402c877bed970ad" target="_blank">Real Madrid are also eyeing a move for the forward</a> as they are planning to end their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe.

For now, Osimhen remains focused on his national side as he is currently in the Ivory Coast for the AFCON tournament. The Super Eagles began their journey in the competition with a 1-1 draw against Equatorial Guinea and will next take on the hosts on Thursday.
