Kaizer Chiefs have come under fire from some fans and analysts who see a lightweight squad made up of players who do not deserve to play for such a huge football institution.One of the most vociferous critics of Chiefs' squad is Junior Khanye who feels the club has average players and says <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/the-13-kaizer-chiefs-players-junior-khanye-said-pitso-mosimane-would-jettison-if-he-was-appointed-amakhosi-coach/bltba29400c861b8884" target="_blank">if Pitso Mosimane is appointed coach, he would get rid of at least 13 players.</a>But Dillan Solomons disagrees and goes on to say they are not playing badly despite being on a five-match winless run which includes four defeats.

WHAT HAPPENED?

“100%,” said Solomons as per <a href="https://www.timeslive.co.za/sport/soccer/2024-04-26-we-deserve-to-be-at-chiefs-solomons-says-as-struggling-amakhosi-face-supersport/" target="_blank">Times Live</a> when asked if he and some other players&nbsp;deserve&nbsp;to be at the club.&nbsp;“If we don't deserve to be here why did [management] sign us? Why would they sign players if people feel like we shouldn't be here?&nbsp;“I feel like a lot of people have been saying a lot of players don't deserve to be here but I don't feel like that," he said.&nbsp;"Obviously&nbsp;that is people's opinion and you have to&nbsp;respect&nbsp;that. I feel like every player deserves to be here.“We're not playing that bad, we're not playing bad at all. We're&nbsp;doing well in my opinion," the Amakhosi star added.“It's just that we're not taking our chances in the final third and that comes with everyone, not only our strikers."

WHAT SOLOMONS SAID

Before the start of the current season, <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/done-deals-confirmed-transfers-by-psl-clubs-in-2023-south-african-winter-transfer-window/bltad28b3b89ea4dce8#csbc6619a79cc71c2a" target="_blank">Chiefs signed 10 players</a> but only a few of them have made any impact at the club.During the January transfer window, the club did not go into the market to refresh their squad which was already struggling.The new coach who will lead Amakhosi into the 2024/25 season might need to do a squad overhaul.But it might be a tricky situation for him as most players' contracts will still be running and releasing them might cost the club.

Amakhosi are preparing to host SuperSport United on Saturday in an attempt to end their five-game winless run.They face Matsatsantsa who have gone for nine PSL matches without tasting victory.
